In Labor

My water broke around 1:30 am, and I am now at the hospital. The Dr. says it will be a long day since I am hardly dialated. But the baby will be here sometime today 8-21-08.

Only 2 weeks until Sept. 4th! Travis and I are so excited about our little baby. i think that we've decided on Olivia Wren and Chase Howell for names. My bags are all packed and the nursery is ready - we are just waiting for Baby Anderson to make its arrival!

Some of my old employees and friends from Parisian/Belk threw me a baby shower on July 27th at Macaroni Grill. They put together a basket of goodies that included bath toys, onesies, toys, shoes, a giraffe piggy bank, blankets, socks, etc. Katie made a super soft safari blanket for the baby! It was so wonderful to see everyone - I miss my girls so much!

My good friend Natalie (picture 1) hosted a baby shower for me this morning (July 19). I had the best time visiting with some of my best girlfriends. They all went overboard and got me the cutest little baby gifts. My good friend Kylie put together a huge baby bath time kit. Dorothy gave me this precious giraffe pillow. My long time friend Melinda (picture 3) gave me a copy of the children's book that she illustrated "Too Tall Alice." I got tons of adorable little outfits and lots of the neccessities. My long time friend Heather told me that she and her husband are expecting their first child next March (picture 2). I am so blessed to have such an amazing group of girlfriends!

Baby Anderson has been growing in mommy's belly for 34 weeks. Baby A is probably around 4-5 pounds and over 17 inches long! According to the doctor, the baby is still in a breached position. I have been feeling pretty good. I'm not sleeping as well and my feet have started to swell. I've started the pregnancy "waddle" and have been feeling more pressure on my pubic bone. Travis and I are so excited about this baby. We can not wait to be parents. There are five little boys due near our baby's due date all on our street! Travis said that we're moving asap if we have a little girl! Not really. I went to see Anita at home today. Some of you may know Travis's step-mother Anita has been very sick with cancer. She is not doing well and probably will not make it to see the baby. She got to feel the baby have the hick-ups today and it made her smile! Please keep Anita, Rogers, and their families in your thoughts and prayers.

It's week 31! The baby is still very active, especially when it's time for me to rest. My mother and I just got back from a trip to Minnesota for my best friend's wedding. It was great to see Jennifer and the Bonner family. We miss them so much! Grandmother-to-be and I had a wonderful time seeing the lakes and the Mall of America. It was my last big trip before the baby comes.

The baby's first shower was so much fun! We had a wonderful time visiting with family and enjoying beautiful Babahatchie and the Emory River. We received tons of great baby gifts including a high chair, stroller & carrier, pack & play, and swing. Some of the most creative gifts were a hand-made baby diaper wreath from my mother-in-law and a hand-stitched african animal book from my great aunt.

It's June 11th and I am 28 weeks pregnant! By this week the baby weighs around three pounds and measures about 15 inches long. The baby is still very active. I love my baby bump, although I'm starting to have trouble bending over to put on my tennis shoes! We are traveling to Oakdale, TN this weekend for the baby's first shower. We have invited several of our family members to the party at Babahatchie (my grandparent's summer home on the Emory River). All of our cousins are excited about fishing and rafting on the Emory. We can't wait! Here are a few pictures of the baby nursery. I painted the canvases to match the bedding and the mirror to match the lamp on the dresser. Travis and I still have no ideas as to if this baby is a little boy or a little girl. However, I had a dream the other night that it was a baby girl, so we'll see! Can't wait to meet him or her!
